Sherry passed away peacefully in Huntsville, Alabama, surrounded by the love of those closest to her. After many long years of struggling with illness and pain, her body is finally at rest. Though our hearts are broken, there is comfort in knowing that she is no longer hurting.

Sherry’s story began in Linz, Austria, where she was born while her father was stationed there with the Army. Her mother and older sister traveled alongside him throughout his military service, and Sherry’s early life was shaped by those journeys. Eventually, Huntsville, Alabama — the place her mother called home — became Sherry’s home as well. It is where she built her life, where she loved, where she was loved, and where she spent her final days.

Sherry is survived by her older sister, Linda Edwards; her younger sister, Tina Jones; and her two children, Michael and Amanda. She also leaves behind her precious grandson, Lucas, who was truly her whole world. Nothing brought her more joy than being his grandmother. He held a special place in her heart that words could never fully describe.

She is also lovingly remembered by her niece, Melissa Young, who held a very special place in Sherry’s life and heart. Melissa loved her deeply and affectionately called her “Sherry Berry,” a name that reflected the closeness and tenderness between them. Their bond was one of love, loyalty, and family in the truest sense.

Life was not always easy for Sherry, but she kept going. Through pain, through illness, and through difficult days, she carried on with a strength that those who loved her will never forget. She had a way of making people feel close to her, and over the years, many of her friends became more than friends — they became family. The love she gave and received through those relationships meant so much to her.

Sherry was a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. She was someone who was deeply loved, someone who will be deeply missed, and someone whose absence will be felt in countless quiet moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

There will be no formal service at this time. A celebration of life will be held in the coming months, to be planned by the family.

Though saying goodbye is painful, we take peace in knowing that Sherry is free from pain now. Her love, her memory, and the place she holds in our hearts will never be lost.
