Miss Shirley also leaves behind countless friends and daycare babies she so lovingly raised and cared for over her 25 years as a daycare owner.
Miss Shirley retired from her days of owning her own daycare in 2008. The years after that were dedicated to her grandchildren whom were the apple of her eye. You could find Miss Shirley at the pick up line at school (always first in line), many a cheer competition, baseball games, bowling matches. She never missed an activity. Outside of her grandchildren she loved to work in her flower beds, read books, play scrabble and working her puzzles. Of course during football season you could find her watching her Auburn Tigers with her favorite Cam Newton t-shirt on. During basketball season you could find her watching whatever game or team she could find on tv yelling "BE THERE!".
It was Miss Shirley's wishes to be cremated with a service in Huntsville and a graveside service in Campbellsburg, Indiana at a later date where her ashes will be buried next to her daughter Julie Irrgang.
We understand that everyone thinks their mother & grandmother is the greatest of all time but she really was the greatest and we are oh so blessed that she was ours.
In lieu of flowers we ask if you feel so inclined to make a donation to The Children's Advocacy Center in Miss Shirley's name to honor her love and dedication for all children.
