IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Skylar Rose
Monroe
April 9, 2022 – October 6, 2025
Skylar Rose Monroe, age 3, of New Market, Alabama, passed peacefully in her sleep on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care, following a courageous battle with cancer.
In her short time on Earth, Skylar touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. With a bright spirit and endless curiosity, she filled each day with laughter, love, and wonder. She loved to help her nurses and play doctor, often turning her treatments into moments of joy and imagination.
Skylar found magic in the world around her — from ducks, cats, dinosaurs, frogs, and butterflies, to sunflowers and clouds shaped like animals. She loved sensory play like play dough and crafts, dancing and singing, running and climbing, tickle fights, and piggyback rides. Her favorites included Baby Shark, watching cars go by, playing hide and seek, blowing bubbles, playing with water, and drinking straight lemon juice with a big grin. She loved a good warm blanket, finding the moon before bed, and cleaning things with hand sanitizer — her own way of making the world a little better.
Skylar is survived by her loving parents, Tabitha and William, and her big brother Landon ("Bubba"). She is also deeply missed by her grandparents Nini and Pop; her uncles Dennis and Travis; her aunts Peyton, Sacha, and Casey; her many cousins; and her extended family at the St. Jude Clinic in Huntsville, where she brought sunshine to even the hardest days.
Skylar's life, though brief, was filled with love and laughter. She taught us all about courage, kindness, and finding joy in the smallest moments. Her light will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A service to celebrate Skylar's life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, viewing from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by her service. The family invites all who loved Skylar to join in remembering her beautiful spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Skylar's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
