Sondra Fay Hollingsworth, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and treasured member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, in Hazel Green, Alabama. Born on March 21, 1943, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Sondra’s life was marked by a dedication to family, a commendable career, and a legacy of love and kindness.
Sondra devoted a significant and impactful portion of her life to her career, retiring from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Her commitment to her work reflected her steadfast dedication and work ethic, qualities that those who knew her admired deeply.
Born and raised in Knoxville, Sondra remained connected to her roots throughout her life, finding joy in the bonds she nurtured and the community she embraced. She was a cherished sister to Bill Walker and Barbara Ragan, and she fondly remembered her late brothers, David Walker and Steve Walker.
Family was the cornerstone of Sondra’s life. She is survived by her sons Greg Belk, Scott Belk, David Allen Rector, Petie Rector, and stepson Ronald Hollingsworth. Her legacy extends through six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who carry forward her spirit and values. The memories shared with her late husband, Clyde Hollingsworth, remain an enduring part of her story.
Sondra’s warmth, strength, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She leaves behind a family and circle of friends who will continue to honor her memory through their love and remembrance.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to those who have offered support and kindness during this difficult time. Details regarding memorial services will be shared by the family in due course.
Sondra Fay Hollingsworth’s life was one of dedication and devotion—to her family, her career, and her community—and her memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew her.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 28th from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by service at 11:00 with Rev. Tim Cole officiating. Internment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
