Obituary

Steve White, age 77, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on September 2, 2025. His passing was as he lived—devoted, steadfast, and surrounded by love.

Steve was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Ann, for nearly 58 years. He was her constant companion, provider, and caretaker, never leaving her side. Even in her final days, he remained faithful and unwavering. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. He raised his sons to be God-fearing, hardworking, family-oriented men, instilling in them the same values that had been passed down from his father and both grandfathers. As a Pawpaw, his grandchildren and great-grandson were his pride and joy. He had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new great-grandchild in February, a little one he will now watch over from Heaven.

Steve carried forward a legacy of Godly devotion, humor, and love. He was known for his quick wit, always joking and making those around him laugh. He created family traditions that spanned generations, like riding tractors in the New Market Christmas parade and having the whole family to the house for breakfast, which was a family favorite. He found joy in simple pleasures, from piddling with antique tractors and trucks to his lifelong love of classic cars and motorcycles. His happiest moments, however, were always with family—traveling with Ann, telling stories about growing up in small-town New Market, or sharing stories and laughter around the table.

Of all his travels across the country, from volcanoes in Hawaii to national parks, his favorite memory was a simple hike in the Smoky Mountains with Ann, where they shared snacks on a flat rock by a river. To him, it was never about the grand moments, but about the little things in life that brought true joy. In his final days, he often reminded us all that "love remains"—a testament to his heart and the deep devotion he had to his family.

Steve was hardworking and dedicated throughout his life. He served in the Army Reserves for many years, which he truly enjoyed, and then later retired from Redstone Federal Credit Union after many years of service.

Above all, his life was centered on serving God. He received the gift of the Holy Ghost on March 27, 1978, and spent the next 47 years faithfully serving God, and was a member of Park City Holiness Church at the time of his passing.

A devoted father to two sons, proud grandfather to four granddaughters, and adoring great-grandfather to one great-grandson, Steve's strong love reached across generations.

His presence was a blessing, and his faith an example. He leaves behind a foundation of love and strength that will continue to guide our family for generations to come.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Ann White; father, Barbee White; two brother-in-laws, Joe Stiles Jr. and Terry Duvall; and daughter-in-law, Ginger Lovvorn White.

Steve is survived by his mother, Peggy White; two sons, Stephen (Gina) White and Brian White; brother, Ronnie (Allison) White; sister, Ginger Duvall; grandchildren, Alexandra (Justin) Vann, Marrah White, Britton White, and Erin White; great-grandson, Silas Gideon Vann, and second great-grandchild due in February 2026; two brother-in-laws, Walter (Sherry) McGehee and John (Diana) Stiles, and daughter-by-choice, Andrea (Charles) Mitchell, along with Andrea's children, Lily (Joey) Kieffer and Autumn Mitchell.
