Jimmy Steve Ray passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, November 7th at Huntsville Hospital.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Ruth Ray, and nephew Justin Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Jo Ray; two sons Jason (Jenna) and Nathan Ray; stepchildren Leanne Archer, Deborah McMickin (Scott), and Rick Archer (Kyla); sisters Patsy Watkins, Vicki Gurley (Buddy) and Judy Crawford (Stan);14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special dog named BB.

Steve was a U.S. Army veteran.  His work career included Dunlop Tire and Rubber Company and residential/commercial construction and home repair.  One of Steve's greatest pleasures in life was making people laugh, and he often referred to himself as Mr. Goodtime.

Visitation will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home on Sunday, November 12th from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. followed by graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery, Mt. Zion Road in Huntsville, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Huntsville Hospital Foundation Oncology Patient Assistance Fund in memory of Steve Ray.
