Obituary

Steve Miller was born January 11th 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Robert Lee Miller and JoAnn Miller. Five years later, he and his family became homesteaders of Anchorage, Alaska, instilling a passion for the outdoors and adventure. After graduating from West Anchorage High School in 1972, he was drawn to the beautiful state of Oregon. There he majored in Forest Management at Oregon State University and won a full, four-year Army ROTC scholarship. Forest management led to logging and logging led to some amazing experiences with God: witnessing God's ability to touch hearts, miraculous healings, and receiving baptism by the Holy Spirit. He still retained his love of the outdoors and adventure, but now God was first. At a Baskin Robbins, Steve met Pam who was deeply drawn to the connection he had with God. He obtained his "wings" in Airborne School, graduated college in 1976, and set off to join the Army to fulfill his scholarship's commitment. No matter where he was sent, he wrote to Pam constantly and on the 4th of November, they were married. Since then, Pam and Steve have hiked and camped all across North and South America, visited Egypt and China, and even lived in Germany. God blessed them throughout their journeys, answering their prayers and providing them with miracles. Within these miracles were their three children - impossibilities

according to modern medicine - loving gifts from God. At long last, he retired in 2020 - but was greeted by a cancer diagnosis. Then his dream vacation was thwarted by malfunctions, covid, and weather - things identified on insurance claims as "Acts of God". Amazingly enough, it just might have been; he was present for the birth of all three of his grandkids. As expected - he became their favorite (especially his granddaughter). With just a few years remaining, he joined the Net Community Church here in Huntsville and started their prayer-team program. Even in the ICU, just weeks left in his vibrant life, he faithfully prayed for others. On his last day, he praised God with the music blaring, took two long walks, smiled, laughed, and prayed for others.

We will see him again in the presence of our Lord. Love and peace be with you all.
