Ted Warren Buckner was born April 15th of 1963 in Manhattan, NYC, NY and passed away December 31st of 2025 in Huntsville, AL. He was born to Robert and JoAnn (Paradiso) Buckner as the third of four children The growing family moved to Hastings-On-Hudson, NY where Ted graduated from high school in 1981. Summers during his childhood were spent at Lake Coventry, CT. He left NY to attend college in Florida and graduated with a degree in geography from the University of Florida. While at UF, he joined the USAF ROTC program. After graduation, he served four years with the USAF. He started a masters program at CSU Chico in geography after his military service. Once classes were done, he began looking for employment and found work at Intergraph in Huntsville. While there, he met his future wife who was taking a class. He liked to say two nerds met in a database class. Before long he relocated to New Orleans where she lived. He married Rebecca Selph Buckner on June 5, 1993 in Longview, Texas. They welcomed two children in New Orleans and soon decided the time was right to look for a new home. They relocated to Huntsville, AL in 1998 and welcomed their third child in 2000.
The family joined First Presbyterian Church of Huntsville and Ted served as a deacon there. He was a member of the Metro Kiwanis of Huntsville where he volunteered with the Aktion Club. He loved sci-fi books, tv, and film. Ted was known for his kindness, his love of meeting people, and his pancakes which he cooked for many years at home and church. He and his wife started their own computer services company in 2003 and closed the business in 2023 when health problems for Ted became too much. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and JoAnn, brother Richard Buckner and sister Barbara Watson. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca and children, Kathleen Jordan, Robert Howard and Margaret Frances Buckner. He is also survived by his brother Robert Buckner and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins.
No services are planned at this time but the family plans to have a celebration of his life at a date to be determined. The family wishes to thank Hospice of North Alabama for their care and the staff at Huntsville Hospital's Oncology floor and Palliative Care. Memorials can be given to the Alabama Kidney Foundation or First Presbyterian Church of Huntsville.
