IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tony Byron
Foppiano
June 5, 1951 – September 25, 2025
Tony Byron Foppiano, of Mamaroneck, New York, and most recently of Huntsville, Alabama, died peacefully in the company of beloved family on Thursday, September 25, 2025, entering into eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Tony was born in Fort Benning, Georgia, on June 5, 1951, and spent his childhood in San Francisco, California, Westchester County, New York, and Opelika, Alabama. After graduating from Opelika High School, he returned to New York, earned a degree from Dutchess Community College, and soon began his life-long career with Con Edison Energy Company in Manhattan and Westchester County, New York.
Outside of his career, Tony loved spending time with friends and family, especially at the beach. He expressed his artistic side throughout his life through drawing, painting, and remodeling projects. He was passionate and particular about his clothes and his cars and his home, and he was caring–always finding time to keep in touch with loved ones through cards and phone calls.
After retirement from his position as senior design technician at Con Ed, Tony enjoyed many years of daily trips to the beach collecting sea glass and visiting with friends, life with his neighbors in his condo community, as well as bike riding and walking. When his health declined, he was able to move to Huntsville and create more precious memories with his family. He rediscovered his love for southern sweet tea and enjoyed lunch outings to diners and pizza restaurants, Sundays eating pasta and watching sports with his brother and sister-in-law, church services on special occasions, and multiple holiday celebrations with extended family.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Jackson, his father Donald G. Foppiano; stepfather Lewis DeCarlo Sr.; and brother Richard Foppiano. He is survived by his son Anthony Foppiano (and family) of Poughkeepsie, NY; sisters and brothers: Deborah DeCarlo Stanley (Ron) of Auburn, AL; Linda DeCarlo Harris (Calvin) of Leesburg, FL; Lewis DeCarlo Jr. (Susan) of Huntsville, AL and Michael Watkins (Jenna) of Auburn, AL; other beloved family members including his Aunt Nancy DeCarlo Cobean (Warren) of Hudson, NY; Uncle Albert DeCarlo (Faye) of Falls Church, VA; cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; dear friends in Westchester County; and many dedicated staff members of Fleming Farms Senior Living and Gentiva Hospice in Huntsville.
Celebrations of Tony's life will be held in the coming weeks in Huntsville, Alabama, Mamaroneck, New York, and Auburn, Alabama. If you would like to make a donation in Tony's honor, the family suggests Tunnels to Towers, an organization Tony consistently supported.
