Obituary

Vanessa Moore, 55, passed away peacefully at home in Ardmore, AL on October 19, 2017.

She leaves behind to cherish her precious memory, a son: Jerame of Ardmore, AL; father and mother: James and Leatha of Ardmore, AL; a special aunt/second mother: Dorothy Howard (Darvin - deceased) of Ardmore, AL; 4 brothers: Earl (Sindy), Waymon (Stephanie) both of Toney, AL; Emmanuel (Shelia) of Huntsville, AL; Steven of Ardmore, AL; 2 sisters: Songia (Greg) of Meridianville, AL; Tirellashaunta of Huntsville, AL; 1 god-sister: Felicia King (Huntsville, AL); and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Sylvester Moore, Ruby E. Moore (Paternal), and J.B. Suggs and Lucille Suggs (Maternal); step-grandmother: Josephine Suggs.

Vanessa was born and raised in Madison, AL where she gave her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth C.P.C.A Church in Madison, AL under the pastoral leadership of her late uncle, Reverend George Moore, Sr. A dedicated mother, sister, friend, and servant, Vanessa stayed humbly connected to God throughout her adult years and for the past 17 years she nourished her spiritual relationship in fellowship with OneWay Outreach Ministry and At the Feet of Jesus Church Ministry of Harvest, AL under the pastoral leadership and guidance of her brothers, Earl and Waymon. Hailing from a loving, close, tightly knit family, Vanessa is often viewed as a matriarch and backbone easily standing in the gap as a mother figure giving hands-on advice about literally everything. She was a blessing to all. There was nothing she was unable to do and do well.
Vanessa is an alumni of Sparkman High School in Harvest, AL (1980) and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN (1982). In her early career, she was employed as an Administrative Medical Clerk with Huntsville Hospital. Later in life, before becoming ill, she worked many years for the Motorola Company and Cinram in Huntsville, AL.

Since 2003, Vanessa has been the "V" of S&V Down Home Cooking Restaurant in Huntsville, AL, where she is known for her baking and deep passion for savory down home food using a collaboration of her sister Songia's ("S") seasoning touches and her very own original recipes. While her departure has left a hole in the heart of many, we take joy in knowing that she is now resting in peace in the Presence of our Heavenly Father in that place we all long to be.

A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Vanessa's life and memory for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent via www.paypal.me/GoodSeeds77 which is an avenue established by her family to help cushion any remaining expenses as well as help others in the future who are in need.
