Vernon E. Brown III died on January 6, 2015 in Huntsville, AL at the age of 72. Born in Salina, KS on July 24, 1942, he was the son of Alice and Vernon E. Brown II. He graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, IA. He married his lovely bride, Paula K. Brown in 1964. Vernon served in the United States Air Force until 1969. He later worked for NASA before moving to Huntsville, AL in 1981, where he worked on Redstone Arsenal as a Senior Systems Analyst on several defense related contracts. He retired in 2004. Vernon leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Paula K. Brown, his sons Derek (Charlene) and Brad Brown (Robbie), his five grand daughters, Rachel, Emily, Riley, Hannah and Avery. Vernon also left behind a half brother, Richard Brown. Visitation for Vernon will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice of Madison, 540 Hughes Road, Suite 12, Madison, AL, 35758, (256) 772-8108 in Vernon's name.
