Wanda Sue Marquez, 70, passed away on September 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family who meant everything to her.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Felix Marquez; her parents, James and Arnita Malone; and her brothers, James, Billy, Ricky, and Randy Malone.

She leaves behind her children, Melissa Marquez, Dewayne Marquez and his wife, Penny, and Brian Marquez and his wife, Kelly; her grandchildren, Taylor, Caroline, Jordan, Matthew, Brennen, Gunner, Kannen, and Saylor; and her sister, Sandra Sanderson.

If there was one thing everyone knew about Wanda, it was how much she loved her family. She was a mother through and through—nurturing, protective, selfless, and always wanting to take care of the people she loved. And to her grandchildren, she wasn’t just Grandma. She was Noni. Being their Noni was one of the greatest joys of her life, and each of them held a special place in her heart.

Wanda spent 20 years working at Windsor House Nursing Home, where her caring nature touched the lives of many.

Wanda had a way of finding happiness in the simple things. She loved bright colors, her dog Diamond, a Pepsi, a good laugh, and having her family close by. Those are the things that will make her family smile when they think of her—the everyday pieces of Wanda that made her so uniquely herself.

There will be an emptiness without her that cannot be put into words. Her family will miss her voice, her laughter, her caring nature, and the comfort of simply knowing she was there. But they will carry with them a lifetime of memories and the kind of love that doesn’t end when someone is gone.

There is comfort in knowing that Wanda is reunited with Felix, the love of her life, and with those she loved who went before her.

Her children will always carry their mother’s love, her grandchildren will always carry the love of their Noni, and all who loved Wanda will carry a piece of her with them.

She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten.
