Obituary

William Rhee Elrick of Toney, Ala., died Nov. 29, 2025. He was 50 years old. Mr. Elrick was a well-known figure in Huntsville after working for many years in law enforcement, with local television station Fox 54, as a guide on local ghost and cemetery tours and, more recently, as marketing director with Broadway Theater League.

He was also the author of the book, "Alabama Lore," and co-author of two books with his wife.

Mr. Elrick was born in Guntersville, Ala., Sept. 15, 1975. He graduated from Guntersville High School and Jacksonville State University.

He is survived by Kelly Kazek, his wife of nine years; his sons, Zane Elrick of Hartselle, Ala., and Ezra Elrick of Havre de Grace, Md.; and stepdaughter, Shannon Gamblin.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date, to be announced. The family asks those who wish to send condolence offerings to please make donations to Hospice of the Valley or the non-profit organization of your choice.
