Obituary

William Harold Fielder (“Pops” or “PaPaw”), of Huntsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Billy was born in Morgan City, Mississippi on January 5, 1939, to Dee and Lucy Fielder. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Fairy Thornton Fielder, for 63 wonderful years.

Billy spent his career as a machinist and proudly opened his own machine shop in 1991. He was known for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication to providing for his family.

He loved golfing and woodworking and was an avid supporter of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Nothing made Billy happier than spending time with his family and cheering them on from the sidelines. Billy was also a dedicated Ole Miss fan.

Above all else, Billy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered for his smile, his hugs, and the loving way he cared for those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Lucy Fielder; his brothers, Clifford and Dan Fielder; his sister, Marlene Luster; and his son, Brad Fielder.

Billy is survived by his wife, Fairy Fielder; his children, Dawn (Chris) and Chad (Courtney); daughter-in-law, Brandi; sister, Bonnie Sue Bobbitt; grandchildren, Hunter (Reid), Holden (Tori), Braden (Allie), Breana, Jacob, Branson, Wyatt, Cashton, Camden, Carrington, Chanley, and Carver; and great-grandchildren, Miliana, Paisley, Monroe, Francis, and Reagan.

Visitation will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home on Sunday, May 17, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
