Franklin Hanes
December 21, 1941 – July 10, 2025
William Franklin "Frank" Hanes passed away July 10, 2025 at the age of 83, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. Frank was preceded in death by his parents G.N. "Bill" and Arnilla Cook Hanes, brother John Hanes, sister Cheryl Hanes Kanzenbach, and nephew Jarod Golden. He is survived by his wife Barbara Mitchell Hanes; daughters Pamela (Danny) Moore and Kimberly (Brad) Stell; brother Ronnie (Adele) Hanes; sister Teresa (Joe) Golden; nephews Billy (Jennifer) Hanes, Ben Hanes, Scott (Tammy) Hanes, Kris (Beth) Hanes and Blake (Casey) Golden; niece Whitney (Caleb) Carroll; and many great nephews and nieces.
Frank graduated from Fairview High School in 1959 and attended Saint Bernard College in Cullman, AL. He and Barbara were married on August 3, 1961 in Dade County, GA. They began their family in Huntsville, AL where Frank worked for John Blue Company. The family relocated to Sylacauga, AL when Frank began his more than 40-year career with Alabama Farmers Cooperative. The family returned to the Huntsville area in 1972 where he spent his final years. He was involved in the Lion's Club and the Cattlemen's Association for many years, and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church until relocating to Madison, AL in 2019.
The family wishes to thank the outstanding team at Regency Health Care and Rehab Center for caring for Frank during the most difficult stages of his Parkinson's Disease and Hospice of Alabama for easing his transition from this earthly home.
The family requests that those planning to attend the visitation or services dress casually, in honor of Frank's favorite attire, blue jeans or khakis and one of his many pairs of cowboy boots.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 17th from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by service at 2:00. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
