Obituary

William "Bill" H. Hocker, Jr., 83, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on February 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bill was born on November 8, 1941, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to the late William H. Hocker, Sr. and Emma Nye Hocker. He lived in Pennsylvania until 1978 when he moved his family to New Jersey.  He later moved to Virginia before finally retiring in Alabama.  He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma, and sister, Audrey Hocker. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jennings, and his devoted daughters, Kathleen Melita and Marybeth Schwarz. He is also survived by his bonus children, Robert Jennings (Barbara), Scott Jennings, and Stephanie Jennings, and cherished grandchildren, Caitlin and Connor Schwarz, and Sarah and Ashley Jennings.

A proud veteran, Bill served in the United States Air Force and the National Guard. He spent his career working for Bell of Pennsylvania and AT&T. Bill was passionate about his hobbies and was a lifelong member of the NRA. He had a great love for shooting rifles, car racing, all animals, and was an avid fan of Alabama Football.

A memorial service honoring Bill's life will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Seleno Common Area - 6854 Governors West NW; Huntsville, AL (Bridge Street) 35806. All who knew Bill are welcome to attend and celebrate his memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to a local animal shelter or animal rescue.
