William Jost, a retired Army veteran and long-time Civil Service employee, passed away peacefully at his home in Harvest, Alabama, on August 29, 2025. He was 75 years old.
William was born on October 10, 1949, in Saint Louis, Missouri. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, dedicating many years of his life to his country. After retiring from the military, he continued his service as a Civil Service employee, where he made a lasting impact on his community and colleagues. William's career was a testament to his devotion to his country and his desire to contribute meaningfully to society.
He was married to the late Rosalee Jost, with whom he shared a loving partnership for many years. Together, they raised two children, Brian Jost and Donna Fredericks, both of whom survive him. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Benjamin Jost, Michael Collins, Shawn Fredericks, and Brandie Clark, as well as his great-granddaughter, Cayleigh Clark. William was an avid dog lover, and his passion for animals was a significant part of his life. He took great pride in his family, including his beloved pets, and cherished the time he spent with them.
