Wilma Jean Atchley Hindman, 82, of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025 surrounded by love.

Jean was born on June 4, 1942 in Paint Rock, AL to Conard and Minnie Wilbourn Atchley of Gurley, AL.

Throughout her life, Jean was well-known for her kindness, her generous heart and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She was a genuine, people person who loved serving others.  First and foremost, she was a loving mother, wife, and friend to whomever she met. She was employed at Albert's Florist and Northrop Grumman, as well as, a self-employed caterer. Baking for her family and friends was one of her greatest joys. She was also a member of Chase Park Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Hindman; her son, Johnny Hindman; and siblings Frank Atchley and Kathryn Parton Frank.

She is survived by her children, Lynn Braswell and Bryan Hindman; grandchildren, Amy Marchant (Jason), Jonathan Braswell, Alex Hindman, Sydney Saunders, and Jackson Saunders; great-grandchildren, Stella Marchant, Ava Braswell, Valyn Marchant, and Levi Marchant; siblings, Conard Buddy Atchley (Carolyn), Patsy Atchley Kelley (Miley), and Bennie Atchley Jacks, as well as, many dear friends, nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss her dearly. To know her was a blessing. She shaped our lives in so many ways.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 12-2pm with the service immediately following at 2pm. She will be laid to rest at Gurley Cemetery following the service. All who knew Jean Hindman are welcome to attend and celebrate a life well-lived.

To know Jean, was to love her. She will forever be in our hearts.
