David Phillip Sloan, 83, of Huntsville passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was preceded in death by his son Tim Sloan. Mr. Sloan was a native of Madison County. He retired from the insurance business after 50 plus years in Huntsville. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy and was a deacon in the Baptist church for 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Frances Sloan; two sons, Steve Sloan and Mark Sloan (Lori); two granddaughters, Dottie Baker (Thomas) and Amy Anderson (Ryan); four great grandchildren; a brother, Doug Sloan and a sister, Patricia Stallings. Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2015 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. Funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00am at Berryhill Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Cassidy officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
