Carol Boles passed away quietly on Monday, September 11, 2017. She was born in Marion, Alabama to Locke and Lila Perkins. Carol attended Perry County High and graduated in 1968 from Judson College in Marion with a degree in Elementary Education. She moved to Huntsville after graduation and taught 3rd grade at Jones Valley and later 4th grade at McDonnell Elementary. Carol met her future husband while teaching in Huntsville and, in 1971, took a break from teaching to travel to Fischbach, Germany to be married to Clark Boles while he was stationed there in the US Army. They honeymooned in Freiberg. After touring Switzerland, Austria, Garmish, and Bertchesgarten, she returned to Huntsville and McDonnell Elementary.

Carol attended Mayfair Church of Christ since 1972 and taught pre-school at Mayfair Child Development Center from 1993 to 2003. She was a skilled, dedicated teacher with a kind, generous, and gentle heart. Children and parents alike loved her. She loved all children and leaves behind a legacy of children who were taught the importance of discipline, reading, creativity, biblical principles, and fair play. In 2004 Carol and her husband retired and enjoyed an extended 2nd honeymoon for the next 8 years. They vacationed every October and May at Orange Beach, Alabama and enjoyed the sun, beach, seafood, and relaxation from a 15th floor condo. They also enjoyed vacationing in the mountains of New Mexico and Tennessee.

Carol is survived by her husband of 46 years, F. Clark Boles; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Thomas (Barry) and Jinnie Forney (Alan); and sons, Jay Boles and Todd Boles. She is preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Lila Ann Shivers.
We'll miss her musical laugh, her big smile, her Southern belle charm, her soft Southern drawl, and most of all her friendship.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Berryhill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, Alzheimer's Association of North Al., a children's charity of your choice, or you can just hug a child.
