Barbara Jane
Bartko Stone
October 1, 1938 – August 1, 2023
In loving memory of our mother, Barbara Jane Stone, who passed away on Tuesday August 1, 2023.
Barbara was the loving mother of Gregg, Jeff and Jim. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Our mom was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mom was a source of inspiration to us all and gave only encouragement and love.
Born in Pennsylvania October 1, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Francis C. Bartko and Sarah Ann (Walker) Bartko. She grew up in Pennsylvania, became an army wife, worked several jobs including as a Beautician to raise her 3 boys on her own.
Growing up, Mom was always there for us, taking us camping and fishing at Lake Guntersville, She instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mom was a true role model who we will always look up to. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is preceded by her granddaughter; Kimberly Stone, brother; Harry Bartko, and sister; Judy Bartko (Curry).
Her living siblings include Linda Bartko of Clairton, PA, and Frank J. Bartko of Arab, AL.
She is also survived by her sons; Gregg Scott Stone, wife Jacqy (Wagner), Jeffrey Allen Stone, wife Sue (Jackson), and James Patrick Stone. Grandchildren include Eric Stone, Ryan Stone, Wife Chaundra (Austin), Michael Stone, Wife Savanna (Collier), and Adam Ballard. Great Grandchildren, Noah, Aiden and Mason.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 5th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers, please donate blood to your local Blood Bank in Memory of Mom or donate to your favorite Charity.
Mom, Granny, You will always be in our hearts and will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
