Barbee F.
White
December 27, 1928 – November 15, 2022
Barbee F. White, our beloved patriarch, passed from this life into the next on
November 15, 2022. He was born to Lawrence and Florence White on December
27, 1928, in Plevna, Alabama.
Barbee was predeceased by his parents, infant sister, sister Rachel McCord, and
granddaughter Ginger White.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy, son Steve (Ann),
son Ronnie (Allison), daughter Ginger Duvall (Terry); grandchildren Danah White,
Stephen White (Gina), Brian White (Cheryl), Nicole Miller (Jeff), Michelle Duvall,
John Moon, Deidre Duvall-Allen, Lindsey Smith (Joey); great-grandchildren
Alexandra Vann (Justin), Britton White, Hannah Miller, Marrah White, Erin White,
Hailee Miller, Ethan Miller, Levi Smith, Abel Smith and great-great-grandson Silas
Gideon Vann due January 2023. He is also survived by sister Jewel Miller and
brothers Ellis (Donna), Landrey, C.H. (Pat), Dean, and Gene and treasured niece
Regina George (Dennis).
Barbee and Peggy were married and became best friends on June 24, 1947. They
were blessed to share 75 years together and were devoted to one another for most
of their lives. Pop's and Mom's love and devotion to one another and their family
has been second only to loving and living for God and has been both inspiration
and example to generations of family.
Barbee spent the majority of his working career at Thiokol and IBM. Both
employers recognized him repeatedly for his contributions and outstanding work
ethic. In later years, he had a great enjoyment for gardening and restoring antique
tractors.
The most important time of his life was when he received the gift of the Holy
Ghost on June 13, 1993 in Merrillville, Indiana. From that time until his passing
he lived faithfully for his Lord and Savior. Barbee was a member of Park City
Holiness Church at the time of his passing.
Barbee, known as Pop to family and friends alike, loved his family dearly and was
in turn both loved and respected by his children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
