On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, Betty Mitchell Atchley, age 80, passed away.

Betty was born in New Market, AL on June 29, 1939. She was a faithful member of Maysville Church of Christ, and always loved doing for others. Betty spent her life as a loving wife, devoted mother, and a lifelong friend to many.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Floyd and Margie Hobbs Mitchell; and her brother, Billy Wayne Mitchell. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Atchley Jr.; her children, Donna Luna and husband Alan, Diane Phelps and husband David, son Greg Atchley; brother, Jerry Mitchell; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

The family will be forever grateful to Dr Manh Dang and his amazing staff, and the nurses at the Huntsville Hospital Hospice facility for their compassionate care through her final transition.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Valhalla Cemetery, with her two grandsons, Caleb and Lucas Adair officiating.
