Carolyn Wilma
Burch
March 26, 1931 – July 12, 2022
Carolyn Wilma Thomley Burch (Nonnie), born 3/26/1931 in Mobile, Alabama, gained her wings to heaven on July 12, 2022.
Carolyn spent her young years in Perdido, Alabama, and sang in the Perdido Quartet before graduating from Bay Minette High School. She was a motivated, independent woman, quickly moving to Mobile, Alabama, working in accounts receivable/bookkeeping at Good Housekeeping, and then at two radio stations, driving back and forth from Mobile, Alabama to Pascagoula, Mississippi, in order to keep both jobs.
After marrying Arthur Albert Burch on 11/27/1964, they moved to Huntsville.
"Big C" and "Double A," as they affectionately referred to each other, enjoyed a full life of travel and were very devoted to family.
Carolyn spoke many love languages. She gave the gift, wrote the letter, made the call, brought the groceries and devoted much of her time to her loved ones. She was a fashinista with a gift for accessorizing. She loved to cook. She was smart beyond her years, and strove to stay up to date on current events and technology, even asking if she needed a linked-in account!
Her church family was at Weatherly Church of God, where she belonged to the Naomi's Daughters group, and enjoyed her many friends and their activities.
Carolyn was preceeded in death by her parents, Hilary L. Thomley and Wilma McGill Thomley, her loving husband, Arthur A. Burch, and her sister, Glenys T. Mason. She will be missed tremendously by her sisters, Rita T. White and Kay T. Stewart. Also, her daughter: Cheryl K. Sanford (Mark); grandchildren: Korri S. Dutton (Phillip) and Leslie K. Brown; great grandchildren: Ember Hill (Chad), Clayton Dutton, Sage Dutton, Sierra Dutton, Colton Dutton, Trey Dutton, Lane Dutton, and Reed Dutton; and special friend, James Ball.
Berryhill Funeral Home will provide a private graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery on Saturday, July 16 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mayo Clinic for Dementia research in memory of Carolyn T. Burch.
Thank you to everyone that loved our Nonnie!
