Eddie Gerald Miles, born March 31, 1945, transitioned to his Heavenly Home on Friday, January 3, 2025 with his wife of 53 wonderful years by his side.

He was born in Gadsden, Alabama to John G. and Pauline Miles. Eddie was employed at several auto dealerships through out his working years.
During the early years as an active member of Jackson Way Baptist Church, he served as a teacher, deacon and an usher. Also, he became known to the children as "Uncle Eddie", during time spent with them during VBS.

In recent years he was an active member of Whitesburg Baptist Church serving as a greeter, and member of the Unity Life Group (Sunday School Class). Eddie was a member of the Gideons International serving in the Huntsville North Camp. Placing Bibles in hotels was one of his passions.

He loved spending time with family and close friends, attending Alabama football games, Nascar races and any kind of celebration.

One of Eddie's favorite Bible verses was I Corinthians 13:4-8a. "Love is patient, loveIs kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

He is survived by his loving wife Kay, whom he always referred to as his "Rock." He is also survived by his brother, John M. Miles and his wife Judy, sister Dottie Richardson, several nieces and nephews, and cousins, and other family members.

He was predeceased by his parents and his older brother, Bobby Miles.

A special thanks to his caregivers at Gentiva were Dawn Walker and Tiaria Mason.

Visitation for Mr. Miles will be held Wednesday, January 8th, from 10:00-11:30 AM at Berryhill Funeral Home, with a 11:30 AM service immediately following. Rev. Gary Gates and Dr. Jeremy Gates will be officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Hill.
