Florence Alexander, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 99.
Her remarkable journey through nearly a century of life was as defined by faith, resilience, and love. Florence was born in MacPherson, Kansas, on August 28, 1925. She grew up witnessing history in the making, including the challenges of the Great Depression and the trials of World War II. A proud patriot, Florence lived through the war years with a deep sense of courage and hope, holding fast to her belief in God's guidance. Florence spent her life building a legacy rooted in kindness and service to others. A woman of unshakable faith, Florence was deeply devoted to the Lord and found joy in her love for Him with family, friends, and her community. Her unwavering trust in God provided strength and comfort to all who knew her.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester Alexander; and daughter, Valerie Ramsey.
She is survived by her children, Frank Alexander (wife, Maya) and Christine (Tina) Kirkland (husband, Mark); grandchildren, Mike Alexander (wife, Sarah), Naomi Hemphill (husband, Joe), Megan Hall (husband, Jim), Krista Heath (husband, Benjamin), Benjamin Kirkland, and Kimberlee Gonzalez (husband, Art); great-grandchildren, Drayke Alexander (wife, Maya), Skyler Hemphill, Remi Hall, Aria, Solomon, Eliora, & Juniper Heath, and AJ & Ada Gonzalez; along with one great-great-grandchild, Marcus Alexander.
Florence will be remembered for her wisdom, gentle spirit, and the many lives she touched with her compassion and grace. She leaves behind a family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, who will carry her legacy of love and devotion forward.
Visitation will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM with a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
