Ila Mae Jain passed away on February 24, 2023, at the age of 70 after a sudden stroke. Ila was born on July 8, 1952, in Olivia Village, Minnesota, to the late Ervin and Betty Pagel. She was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and proceeded to the University of North Florida to pursue an undergraduate degree in Psychology. It was there she met her soulmate, Rohit Jain, whom she married on June 9, 1979.

Ila and Rohit's many adventures allowed them to live all across the world including Manhattan, New York; Horsham, Pennsylvania; Cherry Hill, New Jersey; Hong Kong, and Virginia Beach, Virginia before finally settling in Huntsville, Alabama in 1996.

Ila was a dedicated homemaker who raised two strong and beautiful daughters - Tarina Coburn and Raina Jain - who are both successful healthcare professionals. She was also the proud grandmother of Olivia Coburn, who gave her so much enjoyment that Ila's friends heard many tales of their adventures. Ila is also survived by her sons-in-law, Shaun Coburn and Akaose Ibeaji.

Ila was an active member of her community with her involvement with the parent-teacher and neighborhood associations. She was a lifelong cat lover and was an advocate of pet rescues locally. She was also a passionate advocate for equity and justice through her charitable work.

Some will remember Ila for her good-natured pranks, many for making them feel so at home in her presence, and others for her dry wit and sense of humor.

Ila will be remembered by all for her caring, loving, generous, and gentle spirit.

Service will be Tuesday, February 28th at 11:00 AM at Berryhill Funeral Home.
