Jacqueline
Cobb
February 21, 1936 – January 29, 2025
On January 29th, 2025, Jacqueline D. Cobb (88), surround by family, peacefully transitioned into the arms of God following complications associated with a hospital stay.
Now reunited with her beloved husband of 69 years, Bernie, she is survived by her daughter, Pamela (John); son, Stephen (Michelle); daughter, Melissa; bonus daughter, Shelley (Jim); grandson, Bradley (Autumn), and great granddaughters, Kennedy, Novella and Millie. Jackie is also survived by her constant companion and loving dog, Sophie Jo.
A native of New Orleans, Jackie was known for her superior cooking ability and most notably, how she poured endless love and generations of tradition into every pot of her homemade gumbo. Jackie received her Bachelor of Arts degree (1981) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and went on to work and retire as a Social Worker through the State of Alabama's Department of Children and Family Services (DHR). Additionally, Mrs. Cobb was an avid community volunteer devoting countless hours working in food pantries, assisting the elderly, and crocheting hats for
NICU infants. Jackie's ability to utilize material/cloth to create just about anything was remarkable. What began as a need to provide clothing for her family, turned into a passionate art form. This talent evolved into creating macramé, needlepoint, knitting, crocheting and what would become her claim to fame, quilting. Jackie will always be known for her masterful quilt making ability.
Jackie Cobb's "Celebration of Life" will begin with Visitation at Good Shepherd Catholic Church February 7th at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass and Internment at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to gather afterwards in the Parish Hall for food and drink to continue with the remembrance of a life well lived and loved.
