J essica Nichole Richie, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on September 6, 2021, of a cardiac arrest from complications due to COVID.  She was born on May 2, 1990, at Würzburg Army Hospital in Würzburg, Germany.

She attended and graduated from Franklin High School, El Paso, Texas in 2008.  Jessica loved to play basketball, participated in Marching band, and ran track while attending Franklin High School.  She was a talented athlete and incredibly competitive. Upon graduation, she attended El Paso Community College until moving to Huntsville, Alabama in 2009.

Upon her arrival in Huntsville, Jessica attended Virginia Technical College and received her certification in both cosmetology and therapeutic massage. Jessica loved helping people and always wanted to make everyone happy; she made the world beautiful, one client at a time.

Jessica was very artistic, intelligent, and kind.  Her calling was to work hard and serve others. Jessica was very courageous, she never backed down from the challenges of life even until her final days. The joy in her life and the thing she loved most was being a mom to her amazingly beautiful and gifted sons, Jayden, Jeremiah, and Carter.

If asked to describe Jessica in three words, one would say she was kind beyond reproach, brutally honest, and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Jessica is preceded in death by her brother Brandon Glenn Steven Richie 25.  She is survived by her parents, Glenn and Diane (Pat) Richie, her three sons: Jayden 12, Jeremiah 10, and Carter 16 months, her aunts, uncles, and host of cousins and special friends.

Family will receive friends on Monday September 13, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Berryhill Funeral Home. The family will then receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel with Elder Ellis Smiley Officiating. Jessica will be laid to rest in Detroit, Michigan.
