Linda Kay
Gibson
April 7, 1952 – January 6, 2024
Linda Gibson of Huntsville passed away on Saturday, January 6th. She is survived by her husband, James (JC) Gibson, daughter Amy Yates (William), son Joshua Sumrall, stepdaughters Michelle Schuerr (Stewart) and Wendy Edmonds (Alan). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 2.
Linda was born in Brookhaven Mississippi to Alpheus and Ruby King. She graduated High School and went straight to beauty college. After deciding this was not the career path for her, life led her to begin working in administrative support in the nuclear power industry. This is where she would meet JC. Their careers gave them the opportunity to live in several states, making good friends along the way. Toward the end of their careers, they put down roots in Huntsville. Linda's hobbies included creative crafts, barbecue competitions with her husband and friends, and all things movie and television. She was an avid movie buff and loved to watch movies as soon as they became available. She had seen them all and would stay up to watch movies until the late hours of the night. She also loved animals, especially her dogs. Her cocker spaniel, Elvis, is surely missing her cuddles.
If you would like to honor Linda's memory, we feel that she would be most proud supporting the Greater Huntsville Humane Society. She will be dearly missed. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. No public services will be held at this time.
