Mervin Dean Hudson, 69 years old of Huntsville AL passed away, Wednesday November 29th, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville. Mervin was born on September 9th, 1954 in Laverne, Oklahoma to Johnnie and Lola Hudson. He grew up in Buffalo Oklahoma graduating from Buffalo High School in 1972. In 1973 he then enlisted in the United States Marines where he spent many years until retiring in 1994. During the time of his Marine Corps days he met the love of his life, Jasmine Hudson and had 3 wonderful children. When retiring from the Marine Corps he remained employed on Redstone Arsenal as a contractor with his most recent employment being held at Banner Defense where he will be dearly missed and forever appreciated.
He enjoyed his days as President of the local mopar group, Tennessee Valley Mopar in which he made many lifelong friends. He loved catfishing at his very own private pond, going to car shows, being involved with his grandchildren whether it be scouts or sports. He loved spending his days at his farm in Hartselle with his wife and his four legged friends, especially his Mexican hairless Chihuahua, Lucy whom is still looking for her daddy. He loved his Sunday drives, eating endless shrimp at Red Lobster and spending time with his dear friends in Hartselle.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Jasmine Marcay Hudson. Children Dorothea Ann Howell of Fremont, Ne., Jessica Marcay Hudson and Judson Michael Hudson of Huntsville AL. Also grandchildren Vincent Dean Hudson and Cheyenne Hudson Wright of Huntsville AL and Kaitlin Marie Sudman and Blaise Devaney Howell of Fremont Ne.
None of us were ready to say goodbye but we know how lucky we are to have someone that makes saying goodbye to so hard…until we meet again.
No services are planned at this time, the family will be taking him home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Farm, 697 Rock Spring Road Hartselle, AL 35640. The Farm was Mervin's dream.
