Samuel Lee Garber's Obituary

We were overwhelmed with grief on Monday, September 6, 2021 when the soul of Samuel "Sammy" Lee Garber age 58 of Madison, AL left this world after a brief battle with cancer.

Sammy made the world fun.  He consistently brought the party to the party.  He was a joker, wisecracker, and never at loss for conversation.  Sammy was born in Johnson City, TN, and was the son of Joyce Savage and the late Samuel "Sam" Garber both of TN.  Sammy was a graduate of Hollywood Hills High School (1981), Hollywood, FL, where he proudly wore #75 on the football field.  His primary career was sales, where his dynamic personality helped secure lead sales recognition time-after-time.  Sammy most recently served at Crimson AV Solutions as Southern Central US Regional Manager, where he provided stellar service to his clients.

Sammy had many personal interests, which allowed him to easily connect with others.  He enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, such as the Dolphins, University of Miami, Alabama, and Auburn.  He enjoyed listening to all genres of music, especially the blues and country.   He loved the old guys like Haggard and Hank, as well as new talent like Morgan Wallen and Chris Stapleton.  Sammy was a talented musician himself and enjoyed playing music on his guitar he named "tu-lu-lah."  Sammy enjoyed quite moments too.  He was an avid reader, preferring books about American History and military stories.  One of his favorite past times was fishing, especially Lake Guntersville (AL) and Watauga Lake (TN).  In typical Sammy fashion, he often would brag about his day's catch and post or send fish pics to friends and family.

The world is a big place, and Sammy seldom stayed in one place very long.  In true Sammy fashion, he left us too soon.  We will miss his humor for sure.  Most of all, we will miss his ginormous heart that was truly filled with a desire to serve others.  Sammy was loyal to family and friends by attending special life celebrations in his blue suede shoes, which he reserved only for these sad times.  He was always willing to serve as pallbearer, food go-getter, table-setter-upper, or big compassionate guy with the hugs.  He worked hard to put a smile on our faces when we were at our lowest.  When it was time for him to leave, he always circled the room for one last hug and told you that he loved you.  He expressed his faith by sometimes saying, "Pray for me."  Then he would be gone.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are:
His love and fiancé of the past ten years, Michelle Roussell of AL

Three children whom he claimed as his own, Kristen Rousell, Ryan Rousell, and Brandon Rousell all of AL. Three special "grandchildren," Christian "Chunky" DuBose, Crimson Rousell, and Jet Rousell.

His sisters, Kim Garber of MI and Glenda Garber Reynolds of FL.

Several half brothers and sisters:  Keith Oliver, Daniel Garber, Heather Garber Freeman, Joshua Garber, and Samantha Garber.

One special aunt, Jane Garber Segura of TX, as well as nieces, nephews, and several cousins.

His loveable, big pooch, a Chinese Sharpei named Mister Miyagi.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
