Sarah Jane
Edwards
July 27, 1943 – January 26, 2025
Sarah Jane Edwards (Monaco/Kinsey) was welcomed into eternal life on
January 26, 2025 at the age of 81 in Huntsville, Alabama. She was born on
July 27, 1943 in Buffalo, NY and spent her formative years there.
She met and married the father of her three children in Buffalo and they later
raised their family in Orlando, Florida after relocating in 1969.
Sarah was an incredible woman with a full life, filled with love, service, and a
devotion to her family and community
.
Her life story is truly one of resilience,
faith, and love.
She married the late Dr. Timothy Edwards on March 21, 1990. They were
married for 26 years before his passing in 2016. They lived in Orlando, FL;
Memphis, TN; and Stafford, VA for several years prior to making Huntsville,
AL their home in 2002 where she lived for 23 years.
Sarah was employed for many years working as a Law firm admin and later
in Business Administration at Lockheed Martin. She obtained her college
degree as an adult and this was a source of pride for her and her family.
One of the highlights in her life was learning to quilt. She became an
accomplished seamstress later in life and gifted loved ones with beautiful
quilts, blankets and more. This became one of her favorite things to do and
although she didn't give herself enough credit, she was very good at it.
Sarah was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in New Market,
Alabama and was involved with her Lifegroup, Grove Girls Bible Studies,
Sassy Seniors and her Steady for Life Balance Class. She was an organizer
and kept track of Steady for Life birthdays to ensure that everyone was
celebrated and felt special. She was also a long time supporter of the
Children of Chuluc Sponsorship Program and has for years sponsored a
young man named Brandon from the Village of Chuluc, Guatemala. Her
sponsorship of Brandon helped him remain in school and provided many
other necessities such as daily nutritious meals, shoes and more.
Previously Sarah was a member of Epworth Methodist Church where she led
the United Methodist Women Circle Group for several years. Sarah was a
Jesus follower who loved scripture and taught it well. Accompanying her
friend Susan, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years. Sarah
loved the Lord and always recognized His presence in her life and in the lives
of others.
Sarah loved to read and scroll social media and was always learning new
things to share. She loved to travel and was always up for a trip,
domestically or internationally. She traveled often with Steady for Life with
her daughters or her friend, Martha. She especially loved the beach and most
recently the lakeside home in Lake County, Florida. One of her favorite
international trips was to Ireland, where she fell in love with this beautiful
county.
Mostly she loved her family and was well-loved. She was always there to
support, guide and love unconditionally.
Preceding her in death are:

Edwards and former husband and father of her children, Donald Kinsey.
