Shannon Lorraine Conklin Smith, 44, of Huntsville, slipped away peacefully after a brief acute illness, surrounded by her family and loved ones who'd come to say their good-byes on Monday, March 03, 2025.

As a Certified Medical Assistant, Shannon served the medical community over the past twenty years, most recently as part of the original team of SouthEastern Skin Cancer and Dermatology, providing support over the past eight years. Her love language was meeting new dogs, making a loving home for cherished fur babies Sansa, Bella, Wall-E, and Eva – who, along with Byron and Sophie before them, were a testament to Shannon and Brandon's deep love for dogs.

Shannon was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Brandon Smith by eight days. They are survived by their precious and beloved son, Nathan MacLean Smith. Shannon is survived by her mother, Kathleen MacLean Huggins and treasured stepdad, Charlie Huggins; father, Jim Conklin (Tammy); sister Brittany Huggins, and brothers Michael Conklin (April), Jason Conklin, and Corey Huggins; as well has her Gramma Mac, affectionately known as her frugal grandmother (Loretta MacLean), nieces Taylor, Amelia, Emory, and Olivia, nephew Bryce, and many aunts and uncles, and extended family, near and far, that have loved her bunches and bunches.

Absent from the body, present with the Lord, she is at peace.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th from 5-7 pm at Berryhill Funeral Home.
