Obituary

Wesley Darwin Walls was born on May 24, 1984 in Huntsville, Alabama and went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 16, 2023.

He was preceded in his death by grandparents Paul Richard Walls, Sr. and Eileen Moore Walls; grandfather Samuel "Buddy" Jackson Darwin III.

He is survived by his daughter Jaycee Grace Walls, who was the joy of his life; Jaycee's mother and loving friend Nikki Malone Walls; parents Bentley Ray Walls and Sammie Darwin Walls; grandmother Frances "Nana" Lamb Darwin; sister Haley Walls Nicolaou (Ianni) their two children Jackson Nicolaou and Bentley Nicolaou; uncle Barton Jackson Darwin (Amber) and their children Corrine Lauderdale (Greyson), Kelsey Darwin and Chloe Darwin; uncle Paul Richard Walls, Jr. (Paula) and his children Amy Laird, Candace Walls and Kristin Walls;great uncle, Ellis Waldon (Pat); great aunt, Jean Vann; and a host of loving cousins that were more like siblings.

Each morning Wesley started his day with the serenity prayer –

"GOD grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference – Amen."

Wesley was a member of Church of the Highlands and deeply rooted in his strong Christian faith. Wesley had a real interest in politics with a staunch belief in sound moral values. If politics or religion were ever brought up in a conversation he was glad to share his perspective and there was never any gray area with Wesley. Wesley worked alongside his grandfather and great uncle George in the family popcorn and concession supply business Heart of Dixie Popcorn & Supply. He also worked alongside his father for many years in the family home building business, Wal Bilt, Inc. Simultaneously he worked on the family farm, Pine Lawn Farm, where he developed his strong work ethic; which led him to start his highly successful lawn care business. He took great pride in his work and through this hard work along with his infectious personality he developed many friendships. He was unique in that he had a personality that drew people to him. He was one of the most non-judgmental people you would ever meet, always willing to lend an ear or help anyone in need, all while having a huge smile on his face. Wesley was a kind and gentle person and to know him was to love him. As a family we were the lucky ones. We got to have him with us for 38 years – 38 years of love, laughter and cherished memories. He is now safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and we take great comfort as a family knowing that fact.
