William T. F. Dykes, (75), of Huntsville, Alabama, left to be with the Lord on May 28, 2023 surrounded by his family after a brief, yet heroic, battle with cancer.

William, fondly known as Bill, was born to Jeff and Frances Dykes, on January 20, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a talented athlete who loved playing sports and received a full-ride baseball scholarship to Baylor University. After graduating with a degree in finance, Bill went on to obtain his first law degree (J.D.) from the University of Texas in 1973 followed by a Master of Laws from New York University one year later. He eventually went on to start and enjoy his own law firm in Shreveport, Louisiana with a focus in estate planning and tax law.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending his free time traveling with his family to the beaches of Florida and the mountains of Colorado. He also loved coaching and teaching his sons how to play baseball, spending quality time with his daughter, taking evening walks with his wife and basset hounds, and cheering for the LSU Tigers.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Jeff and Frances, and his sister Mary. Bill is survived by his wife Theresa and three children, John (Amy), Stephen (Chelsea), and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Ashton, Jaxon, and Rowan. He is also survived by his brother, Jeff (Ann) and extended family and friends.

Aside from his devotion and love for his family, Bill had a zeal for following and serving his God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Bill was known for evangelizing his local community, spreading the good news of the gospel wherever he went, as well as praying, actively serving in his church, and supporting global missions. Bill positively impacted our community, and he will be truly missed.

Bill's family will be receiving friends and family on Wednesday May 31, 2023 at Grace Community Church in Huntsville, Alabama with a visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 AM with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:30 AM.
